Hot Days of Summer

We've had a busy few weeks. The girls went fishing with Daddy and "caught" their big fish. (Little did they know it was caught by Daddy and sitting on the line for them to pull in). Brooke was so excited and the first one to grab then poor fish. Av was a a little shy about touching the thing but shared in Brooke's excitement.

We then headed down to the lake with the family. It was a fun day of hanging out on the boats and playing in the water. We then had a big bon fire and made smores in the evening. The girls had so much fun playing with their cousins.

It's nice that the girls are getting the age that they play more and want to be on our laps less.

Happy 4th!!!

What a busy/great weekend!
We had our friends from Philly here over the 4th. We had a great time visiting. The girls were excited to see other faces around the house in the morning. Not to mention they also gave them presents.
On the 4th we went to the parade where the girls loaded up on candy. I'm sure they thought.... "what a concept...I wave and get a handful of candy thrown at me!!"...life's good!
After the parade, we headed home for naps and cooked out. In the evening we headed up to see the fireworks. Av loved them Brooke was scared but kept trying to look.
All I have to say that the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child" really came true this weekend! Thanks to all the extra hands that gave mommy and daddy a break!

MICKEY LIVES!!!!

We recently returned from a much needed vacation. We went down to see Mickey Mouse and Uncle George, Aunt Keke , and cousin Katie.

We made it through the 2 hour flight with little problems. The weather was great the whole time we were there. We spent one day at Sea World and one day at Disney World. Then we packed up and traveled down to Sarasota to visit the family. The girls really enjoyed the "waterfall" (ocean). The beaches are unbelievable down there. It was hard to return home after such a great time.

Brooke is already asking when she "can see vacation again".

Our Trip to Indy

We ventured down to Indy over the weekend for a conference that I had. We were luck enough to find that our friends the Evan's clan were also going down for the weekend. The girls were so excited to see their friends. We spent the evening letting everyone run about in the hotel room. Then on Saturday we packed up and headed to the Children's Museum. The kids were so excited. We are proud to report no one was lost! I failed to mention above that we had 6 kids between the 2 families : ages 4, 3, 3, 2, 2, & 1. Overall, it was a great time for everyone!

Day of Motocross

What a great weekend. The weather was perfect for lots of outdoor time. Friday was "Hooters" night with the Macke family. Saturday we took the girls to a park and then came home to play in the yard. Then today we went to watch Blake and Tyler ride their motorcycles. It was pretty neat to watch and the girls really enjoyed it. Everyone was sleeping by 8:00p.m!

A Month in Review

It's been a busy month so I'm going to do a summary... First let me start out by saying "Happy Easter". Daddy and the girls colored egg with little mess, I'm glad to say. We then spent the day at Grandma C's and then to Nana and Papa's for dinner. The girls had such a fun time seeing all their cousins and getting gifts. It was like a mini Christmas.

We had 4 birthdays this month. Bobby (cousin), Grandma C, the girls friend Carter, and Daddy had his birthday. We had a great time celebrating them. The girls had party hats and balloons for each one. They really know to celebrate. Everyone was sang happy birthday to at least 3-4 days before the party. We surprised Daddy with a 5 ft wooden bear for the basement. It was hand made and brought here from Georgia.

Nana, Blake, Tyler, the girls and myself went star hunting in Crown Point one day. The new Public Enemy movie was being filmed in town so we thought we would go see it. It was actually really neat to see all the actors and production stuff. Of course, after we left and walked to the car we heard a roar of the crowd and "Johnny" chants. Avery is still saying it.
