The Day Has Finally Arrived!!!

Yes, I'm proud to report we have a new addition to our family.......THE BASEMENT IS DONE! It's been a very long time and Dave has put so many hours into it. He did most of the work with some help from our brother- in -law. I'm thinking of hiring him out as a carpenter. We don't have the furniture yet so the girls love the running room. I love just having the extra space and our office is done.

Let not forget about the "BIG BUCKS" they had to make their appearance as well.

Doctor Day

Looking forward to this day for over 2 month it was finally here with a predicted snow storm, with our luck. Worried if the Dr. would be able to make it here from Chicago( office is in Merrillville), Nana made the trip here to "assist" with the Brooke. We all bundled up and headed out on the road. Only seeing 1 car in the ditch made us feel a little better about the trip.
We were only in the office for 20 minutes with good news. Avery is now up to 20.2 lbs! We are so excited to see her get over the 20 lb mark. She will need to stay on her diet until she is 3 with hopes to introduce soy at that point. Overall, the day went smooth with the girls getting not 1 but 2 sitckers from the doctor.

Sleeping Beauty

Yesterday Avery fell asleep with Maggie on her bean bag chair. Maggie didn't seem to mind one bit, they both sleep well.








Here is also a picture of the girls on Valentine's Day. They had a party at school which is still being talked about.

Winter is Flying "Bye"...I Think!

I can't believe it's Ferburay already. Everyday is going by so fast or I'm just repeating the same day over and over (which is a good chance). January was a busy month for us. Papa's b-day which we had to miss due to Brooke's double ear infection and 103 fever. Avery had one ear infected with no fever. 10 days of meds for both which was a battle at first, they have never really had anything before that required meds.

Avery was weighed in at a wooping 19.4 lbs. This is huge, she has gained 1lbs in 4 weeks! It's her biggest gain since last summer!

Brooke is slowly working on potty training. She has gone a couple of times. She is letting us know when she has to "poot". It is so funny to hear her screaming that and running to the bathroom, even at 4:00a.m. Avery is her cheerleader, rooting her on.

Dave has been working with Bob (Big Bob as the girls call him) on finishing up the stone in the basement. It's really looking great! The bathroom is also about to be started and the carpet has been ordered! It's almost ready....

We had a great night out planned with some friends on Super Bowl until I got the flu! Thank goodness for Nana and Papa they stayed and helped with the girls.

2008 Off To a Good Start

We recently had a enjoyable evening with the Evan's clan!
The kids (our 2 and their 4 = 6 kids ...3 years of age and younger) are finally at a age where they can entertain each other and the adults could have a actual conversation. Adult conversation, it's something that I'm not use to.
Brooke is starting to potty train. I think she just likes flushing the toilet. Avery shows no interest in it but enjoys stealing Brooke's flush from time to time.
Avery has gained 1 pound in 4 weeks ! We are so excited. I know it might not sound like much to some but that is her biggest gain in a long time. She is now 19.5 pounds and Brooke is 25.3lbs.

December summary

Well, the month has gone by and I haven't really updated much, so I'm going to do a summary.

Nana Marilyn, Aunt Jodie, Blake and Tyler went up to Chicago with us to visit Daddy at work. We also had a fun day of shopping and got to see Santa!

We also had a pretty good snow fall, which the girls and daddy really enjoyed!

The girls had their first Christmas program with their daycare. They had 4 songs they had to learn with movements. We practiced and they were actually getting it. When their big moment came, Avery was carried in by the teacher..not a good start. They then stood up to start their song and Av saw her daddy. That was the end of her show. Brooke stood up their but never sang a word. Her finger kept finding her nose...great for the home movies!

Christmas came and went so fast. Great Nana was in town so it was nice to see her. We went to Grandma C.'s house on x-mas eve and visited with everybody.

Christmas Day was celebrated here with Nana and Papa. The girls opened one present and were done. The big hit of the day were the dress up clothes. Brooke had every item she could find on.

And I can't forget about Maggie...the hyper dog was so excited when Dave got home one night that she broke her toenail all the way down...ouch! I also said "ouch" with the vet bill....
